Php chown

PHP function chown

This function changes owner permission of a file and it is equal to the linux chown command in linux.

Syntax chown

• file: file name
• owner: user name or user ID.

chown(file, owner);

Example 1

<?php 
  chown("myfile.txt","root");
  // set owner for root to own myfile.txt
  // in linux: $chown root:root myfile.txt
?>

Example 2

<?php 
  chown("myfile.txt","bob");
  //set owner bob to own myfile.txt
?>
