PHP function fputs

This function writes to an open file. It's an alias of fwrite() function.

Syntax fputs

  • file: file to write to
  • string: content to write
  • length (optional): sets the maximum number of bytes to write.
fputs(file, string, length);

Note

This function is binary safe, thus binary data and none-binary data can be used.

Example 1

$file = "file1.txt";
$fh = fopen($file, "w");
$size_bytes = fputs($fh, "great leader leads by ");
echo $size_bytes;
fclose($fh);
?>

Example 2

//Get the image file
// can be used with URL 
$content = file_get_contents("/home/abc/image2.jpg");


//Store in somewhere.
$fp = fopen("/home/to/save/image2.jpg", "w");
fputs($fp, $content);
fclose($fp);
?>
