PHP function fwrite

This function writes to an open file, and it is a binary safe.

Syntax fwrite

  • file: file to write to
  • string: content to write
  • length (optional): sets the maximum number of bytes to write.
fwrite(file, string, length);

Note

This function is binary safe, thus binary data and none-binary data can be used.

Example 1

$file = "file1.txt";
$fh = fopen($file, "w");
$size_bytes = fwrite($fh, "great leader leads by ");
echo $size_bytes;
fclose($fh);
?>

$fh = fopen('file.txt', 'w');
fwrite($fh, 'boy');
fwrite($fh, 'girl');
fclose($fh);
