PHP function is_link

This function checks whether a filename is a symbolic link.

Syntax is_link

filename is a file name to check

is_link(filename);

Return

Returns TRUE when it is a symbolic link, else returns FALSE.

Note

Upon failure, an E_WARNING is emitted.

Example 1

 $link = 'mark';

 $check = is_link($link);

 if($check) {
    echo "$link is a symbolic link";
 }
 else {
    echo "$link is not a symbolic link";
 }
?>

Example 2

$target = 'marks.php';
$link = 'marks';

if (is_link($link)) {
    echo(readlink($link));
} else {
    symlink($target, $link);
}
