PHP function is_file

This function checks whether a file name is a regular file.

Syntax is_file

name is a given file name.

is_file(name);

Return

Returns TRUE when it is a file, else returns FALSE. Upon failure, an E_WARNING is emitted.

Example 1

<?php
   $file = 'myfile.txt';
   if(is_file($file)) {
      echo 'it is a file';
   }
   else{
      echo 'it is not a file';
   }
?>

Example 2

<?php 
  $dir = '/home/abc';
   if(is_file($dir)) {
      echo 'it is a file';
   }
   else{
      echo 'it is not a file';
   }
  
?>
